Inspection: MoI Union Minister makes inspections at MRTV (Yangon)

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn made inspections at the Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV) Office in Yangon on Friday afternoon.

First, the Union Minister inspected the temporary news studio for the MITV channel as its main studio is about to be upgraded, news reading, mini audio studio in the news room and the news room process before holding talks with the channel officers and staff.

The channel needs the temporary news studio as its main one demands upgrade after 9 years of use. The Union Minister also visited the 9 Meter Earth Station and inspected transmission and capture processes for TV programs via satellite channels and fiber connections.

The 9 Meter Earth Station was built in 1997, and it transmits programs recorded by the MRTV (Yangon) and such content providers as Channel K, YTV, Fortune TV and private FM channels to the MRTV in Tatkon, Nay Pyi Taw through fiber and satellite links.

Also, the Union Minister visited the 200 Meter Tower and inspected the strength of the tower, Analogue and DVB-T2 transmitters, FM transmitters, MRTV DAB+ and radio transmitters. The 200 Meter Tower was built in 2012 as a joint venture between the MRTV and the Shwe Thanlwin Company and has been in operation since 2015.

It operates for the Analogue and DVB-T2 channels of the MRTV, Myanma Radio, FM broadcasting, MRTV DAB+, the Shwe Thanlwin Media Company Limited and the Forever Group.
