Arrival of Contestants: Readiness for 23rd Performing Arts Competition

Contestants from regions and states to take part in the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition 2022 arrived in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

The Public Health Department performed medical checkup on the contestants under the Covid-19 protocols. A total of 103 contestants came from Kachin State, 93 from Kayah State, 110 from Kayin State, 77 from Chin State, 108 from Mon State, 100
from Rakhine State, 113 from Shan State, 139 from Sagaing Region, 187 from Bago Region, 170 from Magway Region, 222 from Mandalay Region, 252 from Yangon Region and 203 from Ayeyawaddy Region.

More contestants from Tanintharyi Region will arrive there on October 10. Relevant accommodation is provided for the contestants for their convenience. Also, the ministries of Information and Health open a library and western and traditional medicine clinics to provide healthcare to the contestants.

Objectives of the 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition 2022 are to uplift national prestige and integrity and to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics, to discover, preserve and uplift the traditional cultural
heritage of performing arts of ethnic nationals and national cultural characteristics, to preserve traditional cultural performing arts in order to further revitalize adoration of the State and hand it down to new generation youths and to contribute much to the restoration of perpetual peace.
