Offering Rice: Donation to 500 members of the Sangha in Sittwe

Rakhine State Government and the Western Command have organized the ceremonies to offer rice to 500 members of the Sangha on 8th of August, September and October respectively.

A Libation Ceremony for the rice donations took place at Sasana BeikmanDawGyi in the compound of LawkaNanda Pagoda in Sittwe on Saturday. The ceremony was graced by the members of the Sangha led by the Patron Sayadaw of NandaYama Paritti Sarthintaik.

Member of the State Administration Council Daw Aye Nu Sein, Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, Western Command Commander Maj-Gen Htin Lat Oo and officials took the five precepts from the Sayadaw and listened to the Parittas, recited by the members of the Sangha.

It was followed by the submission of the religious matters and donated offertories. After listening to the sermon, delivered by the Patrion Sayadaw of DhammaThukha Monastery, the congregation shared the merits gained.

Later the SAC member and party, military officers, Tatmadawmen and families, members of Myanmar Police Force, departmental personnel, social organizations, teachers and local people donated rice and offertories to 500 members of Sanghas from various monasteries in Sittwe.
