


The cooperation of the Ministry of Health and the related departments are implementing for COVID-19 preventions, controls, treatments, status of completing vaccinations, arrangements for the continuation of vaccination with the supporting of the government.
During 28 January to 26 September in 2022, there are 145 patients died due to COVID-19 disease. Among them, older persons and people with chronic diseases were found more. That’s why, the Ministry of Health urges the public to vaccinate.
Dr. Than Naing Soe, Director, Ministry of Health, said “ There are 145 patients died due to COVID-19 disease. Among them, 102 patients died with COVID-19 cases were found with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, lungs cancer, heart, liver, and kidney diseases. So, the people with chronic diseases need to be vaccinated than others and totally 81.4% of people haven’t completed three times of the vaccination yet. 17.2% of people are completed vaccination but 1.4% of people are finished booster shots.”
According to their families of dead persons with COVID-19 cases, the reasons why people who were not vaccinated are their misunderstanding of chronic diseases which may be worse their existing disease if they receive vaccination and some are having difficulties to go to the vaccination places.
Dr. Than Naing Soe, Director, Ministry of Health, said “ The Ministry of Health urges to the public who have any chronic disease to vaccinate completely and people who complete three times of vaccination, must contact nearby places where vaccinate, health departments, and ward or village administration offices to have booster shot.”
Currently, there are over 30 million people of over aged 18 and 6.6 million people with under aged 18 were vaccinated as of 1st October 2022, it’s learnt.
