





Renovation works are being implemented at Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda in Yangon and it is located on Mindhama Hill, Insein Township. The full title of the Buddha image is the Abaya Labamini Kyauk Taw Gyi Buddha image is the largest white marble Buddha image in Myanmar measuring 37 feet tall and 24 feet wide, weighing over 600 tons. The implementation of floor renovation had been carrying out since 2019, according to the member of pagoda board of trustee.
Tint Lwin, Pagoda Board of Trustee, Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda said "At the pagoda, we carry out every tasks including cleaning and greening around the pagoda compound. There is a well existed over hundred years on the Mindhama hill of Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda and at the time of Buddha image was located on the hill, the well was closed to prevent any dangers for the pilgrims. Now, the well is opened and water is too clean. It is amazing that the well is located on the hill and water is always available in it even though during the March and April which are the hottest months in Myanmar when the water dried up in almost every lakes and wells."
All round renovations including the works of digging ancient wells were completed at Kyauk Taw Gyi pagoda in Insein, Yangon region aiming for the convenience and pleasure of the pilgrims to pay homage to the Buddha image peacefully.
Tint Lwin, Pagoda Board of Trustee, Kyauk Taw Gyi Pagoda said "We know the water from the well is at PH7 level according to the research companies for purifying drinking water. There is a Banyan tree near the well. We repaired and clean the glass of sacred chamber and pagoda receiving suggestions and advice from the board of Ovadacariya consisting 9 member Sayadaws, volunteers, officers from the government department and pilgrims."
At the hill of the Buddha image, there is a religious building that 7 snakes refuge and house. That is also interested by the pilgrims and visitors who visit the Yangon KyaukTawGyi white marble Buddha image, it’s learnt.
