Under the theme of World Food Day 2022 “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together. Our Actions Are Our Future”, the annual celebration event conducted by the member countries of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations UN (FAO) is going to be held in Nay Pyi Taw.

World Food Day is celebrated annually on 16th October worldwide to promote global awareness on the importance of food and action for those who suffer from hunger and to highlight the need to ensure healthy diets for all.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) designated 16 October as World Food Day in 1979 with a view to paying tribute to the founding date of the UN (FAO) in 1945.

The worldwide annual celebrations turn into 42 years by this time while Myanmar became a FAO Member State in 1947 participating in it every year as well.
