Seeds corn in good price: Price rose to 5000 to 12,000 kyats

The local growers in Eastern Shan state of Mong Hsat district mainly are engaging in the agriculture and the seeds corns they grown fetch handsome price in this year. The seeds corns are planted in May and harvested 3 months later. In last year, the seeds corn in a tin container that holds 8 pyi equivalents to 17 kilograms was sold at the price of 3,000 to 5,000 kyats and it can be sold at the price of 12,000 kyats this year.

In this year, the yield of seeds corns has increased than previous years and the farmers’ income is rising. The seeds corns are mostly cultivated in LelSauk viilage, WanKet village, MongNin village, MongLon village and mostly merchants from MongHsat and Keng tung townships purchase the seeds corns, it’s learnt.
