Hotel & Tourism Industry: Efforts underway for development in Mon state

Efforts are underway to develop the hotel and tourism sector in Mon state in the coming tourism season and there is a lot of potential to develop the tourism industry.

In Mon state, the government has been working, focusing to develop the tourism industry and to create job opportunity and on safety in tourism areas. Mon State attracts a large number of visitors every year since there are a lot of ancient pagodas, historical cultural buildings and relaxing destinations in the state.

For tourism sector development, the government presented the national-level Enchanting Myanmar Health and Safety Protocol (HSP) certificates to 67 hotels, motels and guest houses that have received regional level certification, 17 hotels that have received national level certification and 29 hotels recognized online. Also, travel licenses are being processed according to the specified rules.
