




A great drama show “Dignity greater than Life” was staged at Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday. The drama show was performed by the officers and staff from the Fine Arts Department under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture and artistes, aiming to safeguard the Myanmar traditional cultural heritage.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, the SAC members, the Secretary and Joint-Secretary, Union level personnel, Union Ministers, Senior Military Officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office and their wives, military officers, Tatmadawmen and families of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) Office.
The Drama was performed according to the procedures of Myanmar traditional theatrical drama. “The Dignity Greater than Life” Drama depicts the love story of King NatShinNaung, a noted poet of Myanmar history, and PrincessYaza Datu Kalayar of Taungoo Dynasty.
Despite the daughter of King BayintNaung, Princess Yaza Datu Kalayar has faced the heartbreaking incident along with the ups and downs of the life. The story also based on the political and military situations arose from the competitions between the Feudal Kings.
NatShinNaung, who was excelled in military affairs and also an outstanding artist, trusted and cooperated with the foreigner in his effort to solve the internal conflict of the country, and it led the sad ending for his life. The Drama was presented as a lesson learnt from the history.
With the guidance of the Head of State, the Fine Arts Department is carrying out the tasks for safeguarding and preservation of the Myanmar traditional customs and culture. Arrangements are underway to present the traditional performing entertainment programs for public recreation.
