Education Sector: Agro and livestock subjects to teach in BEHSs

In upcoming Academic Year, Basic Education High Schools for agriculture, livestock breeding and industry will be jointly opened at 50 basic education schools from 50 distracts with the aims to provide professional level training in agriculture and livestock breeding sectors and to be able to turn out the skilled workers.

Kyaw Min Oo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Irrigation said "After the trainees completed their 3 years training course, the trainees who passed with credit in agriculture and livestock breeding can attend Agricultural University and University of Veterinary Science. During 3 years of Agriculture science studies, they have to learn not only the curriculums from Basic Education High Schools but also agriculture, livestock breeding and fishery sciences in the 1st year. In the 2nd year, they have to learn ICT subjects. In the final year, livestock breeding and agricultural matters are major subjects."

The trainees can attend to agriculture, livestock breeding and fishery sciences according to their credit level in the exam. For those who pass the exam in ordinary level, the ministry will implement to be able to work at related work fields.
