Trade Policy Review: MoC held clarification on trade policy review

Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo gave a remark at the clarification on the trade policy review procedures of the World Trade Organization held at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on September 22.

First, the director of related field from the department of trade clarified the fundamental principles, rules and regulations, procedures, agreements, the trade policy review which is one of the procedures that must be carried out by the member countries, the implementation of second time trade policy review of Myanmar and the points to be carried out and the permanent secretary supplemented necessaries.

On the clarifications, the attendee officers raised their desired questions. Regarding with the clarifications, the union minister said that the purpose of this discussion is to be familiar with the tasks carrying out by the ministry which they are serving.

As the trade policy review process is to be carried out not only the ministry but also other ministries need to cooperate, the action plan is needed to draw for the tasks to be done.

And the educating programs given to the private entrepreneurs regarding the trade to be continuous and all staff members need to take responsibility to create a good trade environment.

The event of clarification was also attended by the permanent secretary, directors general, deputy permanent secretary, deputy directors general and the officials above the deputy director and the officials in-charged from the border trade camps and regions and states attended via Virtual system, it’s learnt.
