The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.
The Ministry reported 399 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing 12,102 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there are two patients who died due to the disease while 227 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 619,566 with 19,450 deaths and 595,848 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.
According to the analysis of the COVID-19 vaccination rate of deaths between 28-1-2022 and 19-9-2022, there are 138 deaths due to the COVID-19. Among them, 97 persons (70%) are suffering chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart, liver, kidney, lung and cancer disease. According to the analysis, among the deaths that had chronic disease, 79.4 per cent have not been vaccinated at all and have not been fully vaccinated, 16.8 per cent have been fully inoculated and 2 per cent received booster shots.
Therefore, according to the analysis of the COVID-19 vaccination and COVID-19 cases/deaths in Myanmar, it causes less severe illness and fewer deaths among those who are fully vaccinated and those who receive booster shots. The people should follow COVID-19 health rules, wear face masks and contact the nearest health departments, and village/ward administration offices to receive vaccines and booster shots.
