Tourist’s arrivals: Inlay Lake and Kalaw are attracting tourists

Even Though it’s rainy season, tourists have already started arriving from various countries to Myanmar.  International airlines have re-opened since April 17th, 2022.

And E-tourist visa has been allowed since May 20th. In addition, Russian tourists and eight ASEAN countries have been granted visa exemptions. The well-known destinations cities; Yangon, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, Bagan etc. are visited by international tourists and Shan State is also the region of the most potential for tourism.

So, local people should preserve the natural resources and ecosystem. In addition, the development of tourism sector in Shan State, the maintenance of the natural beauties of Inlay Lake and upgrading Kalaw as the tourists’ attraction city are being implemented.

Kalaw with significant history, climate condition, geographical features and having many resources are the best potentials for the development of the tourism sector. So Kalaw’s tourism industry master plan and its resources must be effectively utilized and implemented as a model tourism city.
