Preservation of the Ozone Layer: Rakhine State Chief Minister attends Commemorative Ceremony

Rakhin State celebrated the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer at the U Oattama hall in Sittway on Monday. At the event, Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min said that this year’s theme is the “Montreal Protocol@35: global cooperation protecting Life on earth”.

The Montreal Protocol has a broader impact on climate change and how partners continue to work on it and to address the challenges of climate change faced by the world nations currently and to protect all living things on the earth for future generations and to acknowledge on the development of global cooperation.

The Chief Minister called for suspending the use of substances that destroy the ozone layer and cause global warming in order to reduce climate change and global warming and cooperation in the procedures for stopping the import and use of these substances.

Later, the video message of the UNFP’s Managing Director was shown and the State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min and the State Minister of Natural Resources U Than Tun presented awards to the winners in the essay and painting competition in commemoration of the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer.

The Chief Minister and party then enjoyed an educative video commemorating the celebration and observed educational pamphlets, periodicals, posters as well as essays and paintings of the winners.
