





Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attends a workshop on development of the role of cooperative sectors in Mekong region that was held at the Shwe San Eain hotel in Nay Pyi Taw via zoom in line with COVID-19 rules and regulations.
At the event, Union Minister said that Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2020 has implemented for the development of cooperative sector between Myanmar and Mekong region and capacity development project since October 2021.
During the project, accounting, audit, Cooperative Law, bylaw and regulations, financial awareness, cooperative management and marketing training, food safety awareness trainings and workshops including M&E training have been opened.
Representatives from Mekong region Countries such as Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand and Viet Nam including Myanmar cooperatives will discuss the role of cooperative sectors in Mekong region and cooperative activities at the workshop and it will cooperate more the role of cooperative sectors in the region.
The Union Minister called for cooperating in the cooperative sector development of the country by applying good results from the workshop at the time when it is endeavouring for promoting socio-economic life from cooperative sector of Mekong region countries, development of agricultural sector and poverty alleviation The representatives at the meeting discussed cooperation sector development in Mekong region.
The Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, the permanent secretary, officials from Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, delegates from Mekong region countries and officials attended the workshop.
