



Sales of gift items made of jade at the souvenir’s shops of Varocana Kyauksein Zedi, the world’s first jade pagoda in the outskirts of Amarapura, Mandalay Region surges in connection with the increasing arrival of visitors from different regions and states.
At the souvenir and religious items shops, high-priced jade replica of Kyauk Sein Zedi (jade pagoda) and jade bracelets were bought by foreigners and as the local visitors love to buy the items with reasonable price.
Tin Moe Khine, Souvenir shopper said "The sale of items made of jade is booming here because of the Jade Pagoda. We have replica of stupas, beads, bracelets and necklaces that are running out quickly. I have been selling other items but those take times to sell. Depending on the quality, we get the price up to 100,000 Kyats. We sell through an order management system if the items are worth over K 100,000."
Kyauksein Zedi was established in 2012. From that time, handicraft businesses near the pagoda are relatively booming.
The visitors from the local and abroad visits Varocana Kyauksein Zedi daily and the pagoda is crowded with the visitors on the days of religious significance.
