Stake-Driving Ceremony: Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center

A stake driving ceremony for construction of Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center took place in Taunggyi on Sunday.

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Saw Tun Aung Myint attended the ceremony, and urged all to strive for timely completion of the construction works since the center represents the socio-economic development of the national races in Shan State.

The Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center is implemented by the Department for the Protection of Ethnic Rights under the ministry with the alloted budget from Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2021).

The construction of the center is targeted to complete in February 2023. Upon completion, the short-term vocational training courses including computer, sewing and mechanical courses will be conducted for socio-economic development of the ethnic people in Shan State.

Moreover, the center will host the meeting and gatherings on the significant days to interact among the ethnic people. The required infrastructure and teaching aids will be provided through the budget from Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2022).
