Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han made inspections in Bago Region on Saturday. First, at the electrical engineering offices in Phyu and Zeyawadi townships, the Union Minister met with concerned officials and town elders.
There, he stressed a series of matters including the importance of electrification for regional development, cooperation for stable electricity access, saftey measures, efforts to accelerate electricity distribution and reduce power loss and electricity bill collection.
The Union Minister also fulfilled the requirements reported by the town elders. Also, the Union Minister inspected the Sabar Kyw 500 KVA sub-power plant implementation near Village in Taungoo Township and the Meikhtila-Nay Pyi Taw-Taungoo grid connection.
After hearing reports, the Union Minister called on concerned officials to work hard to complete the projects on time within the specified time on the funds received and to focus on workplace safety and quality of electrical materials.
It’s learnt that the 500 KVA sub-power plant project will be a back bone for electricity distribution as the 230 kV transmission line from the northern part of Myanmar, where the most power is produced, to the southern part of Myanmar, where the most power is used, is being overloaded and there is no back-up power line when a system breakdown occurs.
