NASA celebrates anniversary of JFK speech

NASA and Rice University in Houston celebrated the 60th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's historic speech at Rice Stadium Monday. The speech rallied the nation to land astronauts on the Moon before the end of the decade and bring the crew safely back to Earth.

JFK delivered his famous moon speech 60 years ago in front of a crowd of thousands of people. NASA is currently gearing up for a test flight of its moon rocket Artemis I after two scrubbed launches. Through Artemis missions, NASA will land the first woman and the first person of color on the Moon.
