US Vice President Kamala Harris said the United States will introduce a resolution at the United Nations later this month in a push to end anti-satellite missile testing. Harris announced the move Friday in Houston at a meeting of the National Space Council, which she chairs.

She announced new commitments from the U.S. government, the private sector, educational institutions, and philanthropic organizations to support space-related STEM initiatives to bolster the space workforce.

The council is currently working on developing new rules to serve as a framework for future activities in space. She touted the Artemis Accords, an international agreement on space cooperation that was drafted during the Trump administration and the Artemis program to put Americans back on the moon.  She said there are now 21 signatories to the agreement.
