Seven Colombian officers killed in bomb attack

Seven officers were killed Friday in an explosives attack in rural Huila, San Luis municipality, in western Colombia, police said in a statement. It is the largest attack on police under Gustavo Petro's government.

The authorities said the officers had left the Neiva Metropolitan Police Command in the morning and were on their way to the village of San Luis, when they were victims of the activation of an explosive device near the village of Corozal.

The President asked state agencies to travel to the territory to take over the investigation.
