Zelenskyy awards 7 dead soldiers highest honour

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday marked the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine – a holiday he instituted in 2019 – by awarding families of servicemen.

The ceremony took place at Mariinsky Palace's White Hall of Heroes of Ukraine in the presence of the top military brass and high-ranking officials.

In total, seven fallen service members posthumously received the highest honour in the country - Hero of Ukraine - collected by their families.
