COVID-19 Update: 63 New COVID-19 Cases Reported on August 24

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures. The Ministry reported 63 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Wednesday after testing 8.060 patients within 24 hours.

At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 40 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,811 with 19,437 deaths and 593,355 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals. Among the 63 new cases, 40 cases are those who come from abroad and the rest 23 cases are the local transmissions, it’s stated.

The World’s worst-hit countries are the United States of America, India, Brazil, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Italy, Russian Federation, Japan, Turkiye and Spain according to the World Health Organization. Globally, as of 5:44 pm CEST, 24 August 2022, there have been over 595 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, including over 6.45 million deaths.
