COVID-19 Update: 52 new COVID-19 cases reported on August 23

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 52 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Tuesday after testing 8,502 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 61 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,748 with 19,437 deaths and 593,315 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Among the 52 new cases, 18 cases are those who come from abroad and the rest 34 cases are the local transmissions, it’s stated.
