COVID-19 Update: 42 new COVID-19 cases reported on August 22

The Ministry of Health has been accelerating COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment measures and procedures.

The Ministry reported 42 new COVID-19 cases at 8 p.m. on Monday after testing 8,186 patients within 24 hours. At the time of the report, there’s no patient who died due to the disease while 23 patients have recovered. Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar have reached 614,696 with 19,437 deaths and 593,254 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from the hospitals.

Among the 42 new cases, 14 cases are those who come from abroad and the rest 28 cases are the local transmissions, it’s stated.
