Peace Process: EAO delegations arrived NPT for 2nd round discussion

Delegations from Ethnic Armed Organizations arrived Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday for second round of peace talks, at the invitation of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, aiming to achieve eternal peace in the entire country and to end armed conflict.

A delegation led by Chairman of Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) Khun Thurein arrived via Taunggyi of Shan State, a delegation led by Chairman of Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) Kyar Solomon via Tachileik of Shan State and a delegation led by Vice Chairperson of Arakan Liberation Party Saw Mra Razar Lin via Sittwe of Rakhine State respectively.

First round of peace talks with the EAO delegations were held during May and August this year, and agreements have been reached for strengthening multi-party democracy system, establishment of a union based on democracy and federal system and continuing the efforts for peace and development in the union.

During the second round peace talks, the discussions have been opened for the political will and future processes of the EAOs. The EAOs which have not been attended the peace talks are also invited to come for the discussions without prior restrictions under any circumstances.
