Illegal trade: Machinery, unregistered motorbikes confiscated

An effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade under the law supervised by the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.

On 18 August, a combined team nabbed an unregistered Odyssey car near Phonedawpyae village in Natmauk Township. Officials captured 35 gallons of illegal fuel oil. In addition, illegal timbers were confiscated in Field No 10 of the East Yoma forest reserve of Sinbaungwe Township. On 19 August, an inspection team seized three unregistered motorbikes in Thayetchaung, Myeik and Bokpyin Townships.

In addition, unregistered machinery was captured at the Mahlwaltaung Checkpoint of Yephyu Township. Similarly, a team led by the Myanmar Police Force made nabbed an unregistered Kanda motorbike in Homalin Township, Sagaing Region.

On 20 August, an inspection team confiscated illegal timbers in the Yoma protected forest in Yedashe Township. Therefore, eight arrests were made on three consecutive days from 18 to 20 August, according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.
