Disaster Management: 4-Day Basic Disaster Management Course

Bago Region Government launched the 1st Basic Disaster Management Course in the year of 2022. Regional Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win attended the course opening and stressed advantages of the course including widening the knowledge on disasters and accelerating cooperation on disaster management activities.

Bago is a region facing the challenge of earthquake due to being on the Sagaing fault. Disasters are unpreventable, but, disaster management work committees need to focus on the duties to ensure that they have the ability to respond to disasters.

This Basic Disaster Management Course in Bago Region attended by 50 trainees covered risk management terminology, climate change, risk management concept and risk management cycle, natural disasters in Myanmar, risk mitigation methods, overview of the early warning system, community-based disaster management, search and rescue, emergency communications and collaboration.
