COVID-19 Preventive Measures: Control and Emergency Response Committee Held Meeting In Magwe

Magwe Region COVID-19 Control and Emergency Response Committee held its coordination meeting at the Regional Government Office on 18th August.
Chief Minister U Tint Lwin discussed that COVID-19 infection rate has been significantly declined in the region. Despite that, there are an increase of cases not only among the returnees from foreign countries but also the cases from local transmission, according to the report of the Ministry of Health.
Concerning the vaccine administering, over 82% of people aged 18 and above have completed vaccination in the region while more than 97% of students aged between 5 to 12 years old and over 46% of children aged 5 to 15 years old. Vaccines administering will be continued to reach the cent percent coverage, and booster doses will also be provided to those who got vaccinated for 6 months.
Moreover, COVID-19 detection with RDT test kit and vaccination will be continued for effectively prevention of the disease. He also stressed to make coordination with the related health departments for vaccine requirements. He also pointd out the needs to get ready for operation of Oxygen Factories in the region.
He called for accelerating the COVID-19 preventive measures while strictly following the guidelines for disease prevention. The officials later reported on the vaccination process, condition of infection in the districts and townships, preventive measures and arrangements for oxygen machines.
