Actor Gina Lollobrigida, 95, says she will run in Italian general elections

95-year-old screen icon Gina Lollobrigida will run for the Italy's Senate in next month's elections, Italian media reports.
The actress will reportedly stand as an independent candidate for Sovereign and Popular Italy party - a Eurosceptic alliance formed in July 2022.
Italy called elections for 25 September after Prime Minister Mario Draghi's alliance collapsed. Lollobrigida previously ran for a seat in the European Parliament in 1999.
