Venezuela firefighters battle blaze at warehouse

A fire tore through a warehouse of the Venezuelan Social Security Institute where medical equipment was stored early Monday. There were no reports of deaths or injuries.
The building stored supplies for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs and "distributed supplies daily to assist more than 7,000 patients throughout the country," according to Venezuelan Health Minister.
Residents said the fire started quickly early in the morning, around 6 am. "The spread was huge, then there was a big flare, there was a small explosion, the roof collapsed and after a while the firefighters started to arrive," said a resident of the Carapita neighborhood where the fire occurred.
