Peru's president reshuffles cabinet

Peruvian President Pedro Castillo reshuffled his cabinet after refusing to accept the resignation of his Prime Minister Anibal Torres. Castillo made six changes to his cabinet, including the ministries of economy and foreign affairs.

The new economy minister is Kurt Burneo, who was deputy economy minister between 2001 and 2004. The new foreign minister is Miguel Rodríguez, a lawyer and expert in international law.

The other changes took place in the ministries of Labour, Culture, Housing and Transport. The president began his term in office on 28 July 2021.
