Floods in Pyin Oo Lwin: Resuce measures undertaken for flood-affected people

The torrential rain caused floods in the wards of Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region at about 2 am to 11:30 am on 31st July.

The local Tatmadawmen, members of Myanmar Police Force, Fire Brigade members, departmental staff and volunteers went to the sites and evacuated flood-affected people to the safer places.

They also removed blockages from collapsed buildings and cleared roads and bridges on 31st July and 1st August.

Moreover, foodstuff were provided to flood-affected people who are temporarily accommodating in the community halls and the necessary health care services were conducted to them.

10 Wards and 2-village-tracts were flooded by heavy rains in Pyin Oo Lwin and there has been damages at the lower part of the auxiliary spillway of Doe Kwin Reservoir, it is learnt.
