Hundreds of motorcyclists drove through Bogota's streets on Thursday to protest against a law which prevents them having a male passenger on their vehicles on some days of the week.

The Colombian capital's mayor had extended the legislation, which came into effect in April, until December. The law bans male passengers between Thursday and Saturday from 7pm to 4am, because of what officials said was a rise in motorcycle related crimes. However, motorcyclists believe it's a measure that discriminates against them.
