Cuba athletes await visas for World Championships

High-performance athletes and Cuban officials preparing for the World Athletics Championships in the US expressed their concern on Friday about the delay in the delivery of visas by the US government.

14 athletes in different modalities have their classifications ready for the competition in the state Oregon to be held this July. Cuban officials indicated that initially, they tried to apply for these permits in Spain, where they were given appointments for the next year.

The XVIII World Track and Field Championships will be held in Eugene, Oregon, from July 15th to 24th. It's organized by the World Athletics and the US Track and Field Federation.
