Presenting certificate of honor: Editing Tipitaka Pali-Roman transcripts completed

The ceremony of commemorating completion of editing TipitakaPali-Roman transcripts and presenting certificate of honor to the Sayadaws from 4 Buddhist Universities was held at the Thitagu Sanvejaniya Dhamma Beikman of Thitagu International Vipassana University (Sagaing) in the morning on 10th June.

The 18 members of Sangha led by the Chancellor of Thitagu World Buddha Universities and 16th Chief of Shwe Kyin Theravad Buddhist sect Abhidhajamaharathaguru, Abhidhajamaha Saddhamjotika Dr. Baddanta Nanissara, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, deputy minister U Aye Tun and officials attended the ceremony.

First, the congregation observed the five precepts administered by Thitagu Sayadawgyi Dr. Baddanta Nanissara.

At the ceremony, Thitagu Sayadawgyi said that the Pali Tipitaka approved by the 6th Buddhist Synod participated by the members of Sangha from five Theravada countries were transcribed into Roman alphabets and inscribed on the stones to be erected at Maravijaya Buddha image.

Those were edited by the members of Sangha from 4 Buddhist Universities. The members of sangha from Thitagu International Vipassana University edited for 7 times.

The Buddha Sasana should be preserved with four tasks such as Preservation of Buddha’s Teaching, Promotion of Buddha’s Teaching, Propagation of Buddha’s Teaching and Protection of Buddha’s teaching.

Next, the chairman of working committee for the conformity with the Tipitaka Pali texts approved by the 6th Buddhist Synod in the inscribing on the stones with bilingual of Pali and Roman Union Minister U Ko Ko extended words of delight and thanks to the Sayadaws led by the Thitagu Sayadawgyi on behalf of the State Administration Council.

Afterward, the union minister presented the certificate of honor to the Sayadawgyis who participated in the four editing groups and offered the offertories and shared the merits gained.
