Boric meets Trudeau ahead of Americas summit

Chilean President Gabriel Boric and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau attended a signing ceremony on Monday morning in Ottawa, where they committed to working together on issues affecting gender equality.

The Chilean president called for the strengthening relations across the region. After the visit, the leaders will travel to Los Angeles for the Summit of the Americas from June 8 to 10.

Boric presented some of the topics to be discussed, including human rights, renewable energy, Indigenous rights, among others. Trudeau stressed Canada's position of continuing to "stand up strongly for human rights and democracy" in Cuba.
