







The 145th Anniversary of Myanma Railways under the Ministry of Transport and Communications took place at Pobbathiri Mingalar Hall, Nay Pyi Taw Railways Station in the morning on May 1st.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San said during the 145- year journey of Myanma Railways, various systems have changed, but the transportation needs of the country is still met due to the perseverance and dedication of the Myanma Railways staff who carried out diligent work.
He added the need to think ahead to use the electric train system in the future, to gradually reduce the need to buy materials required for the construction of locomotives and carriages and replay them locally, to establish a Research and Development Centre.
Afterwards, Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San presented additional wards and certificates to eight officers/staff members who were awarded the honorary medals for their outstanding performance during the one year term of the State Administration Council and staff who excelled in various courses.
