The Ukrainian arm of the Red Cross on Monday urged for countries on both sides of the conflict to allow humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people still living in cities on the front lines. The Red Cross said it was "their obligation under international humanitarian law" to provide safe passage for humanitarian workers to carry out medical checks and give supplies to those in need.In Irpin, a former Kyiv commuter city, the buildings have been reduced to rubble, and only those who are unable or unwilling to leave remain. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has managed to gain access to help those still in the city, including homeless people, the elderly, and those with limited mobility. The group will also be supporting the city's water board to help restore supply.
