Nine Brazil ministers resign, prepare for campaigns

Nine Brazilian cabinet ministers resigned en masse from the government of President Jair Bolsonaro on Thursday, so they can launch campaigns to run for congressional seats and governorships across the country.

The resignations are seen as an effort to help Bolsonaro in his bid for re-election. They are expected to campaign for office ahead of October's general election and in so doing campaign for Bolsonaro as well.

Bolsonaro lauded his cabinet for their work since he took office in 2019. It is obvious that they will run for office.
