Peace Process: NSPNC and SSPP met in Nay Pyi Taw

National Solidarity and Peace Negotiation Committee held a meeting with the representatives from Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP) in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Member of the State Administration Council, Union Minister at the Office of the Union Government, Chairman of the Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae explained the peace making efforts and designating 2022 as the Year of Peace, holding an open-ended discussions with the Ethnic Armed Organizations, ceasefire process, regional development endeavours, reduction the conflicts, fulfilling the requirements of local residents, cooperation for holding the free and fair multi-party democracy general election and regional peace and tranquility.

SSPP Vice Chairman (2) Sao Khun Hsai discussed for creating the environ that can ensure development of the state, prevailing peace and rule of law. He also discussed for building mutual trust for regional peace and security and overcoming the obstacles through frequent negotiations. The two sides also discussed the recent development among the EAOs in Shan State, future peace making process and regional development tasks.
