Puppet Festival Of Lancang-Mekong: 2-Day Festival Kicked Off In Mandalay

Puppet Festival of Lancang-Mekong was held in Mandalay on Wednesday, in order to showcase the diversities and cultural traditions of each country from the Mekong region.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko attended the opening ceremony and made a speech. Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai also spoke on the occasion.

The National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) arranged the festival under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation project. The two-day festival includes the performances of puppeteers from China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam as well as paper reading session on knowledge of puppet.
