Illegal Trade: Illegal Items Worth Over 84 Million Kyats Seized

Under the supervision of Anti-illegal Trade Steering Committee, concerned officials have been making inspections on trade.

On March 25 and 26, illegal bags of garlic worth over 16 million Kyats and foodstuffs worth about 12 million Kyats were seized in Kengtung Township. On March 27, illegal air conditioners and cooking utensils worth over 2 million Kyats and foodstuffs worth over 1 million Kyats in Myawaddy Township as well as oil in Minbu Township were seized.

On March 28, illegal timber worth over 8 million Kyats in Bago, Thayawaddy and Katha districts and unregistered motorcycles in HteGyaing Township were seized. Investigation is underway and legal actions have been taken in line with the laws.
