Drone images showed huge plumes of smoke rising from a complex of wildfires in Hood County, Texas on Sunday. This comes a day after officials said fire crews had made progress against wildfires in the state.

The fires have killed a deputy sheriff and destroyed at least 50 homes.25% of the flames had been contained, up from about 4% late Friday as the fire burned thick brush and grass fields.

The fires had burned about 130 square miles, including about 70 square miles in the Eastland Complex, according to the agency. That area is around 120 miles west of Dallas.

In neighboring Oklahoma, a firefighter died in one of several wildfires that broke out on Sunday, authorities said.
