Religious Titles Conferring: Senior General Attends Ceremony In Nay Pyi Taw

A ceremony to confer religious titles was held on Wednesday afternoon at SasanaMahaBeikman in Uppatasanti Pagoda precinct in Nay Pyi Taw.

The ceremony was attended by State Sangha MahaNayaka Chairman and other members of the Sangha together with Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife as well as many other high-ranking officials. This ceremony began with taking Five Precepts and continued with religious norms.

In this ceremony, 9 Sayadaws were conferred with the title of AbhidhajaMahaRattha Guru and 8 Sayadaws with AbhidhajaAggaMahaSaddhammaJotika, 18 Sayadaws with AggaMahaPandita, 23 Sayadaws with AggaMahaGanthavacakaPandita, 3 nuns with AggaMahaGanthavacakaPandita, 41 Sayadaws with AggaMahaSaddhamaJotikadhaja, 6 monks with AggaMahaKammatthanacariya while one person with AggaMahaThiriThuddhama Mani Zawtadhaya and two persons with AggaMahaThiriThuddhammaTheingi for the year 2022.

The remaining recipient Sayadaw, Nuns and persons were also presented by the officials of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, Regions and States.

After the ceremony, the Senior General and wife paid respects to the Sayadaws who won the AggaMahaPandita title and AggaMahaGandhavasakaPandita title and reported on the conferring of religious titles and other efforts to ensure the sustainable development of Theravada Buddha Sasana.

The Senior General also said the government will support Myanmar monks who are studying in Sri Lanka and highlighted the construction of the world’s biggest stone Buddha Statue tilted Maravijaya Buddha Image and the work process to publish the Tri Pitaka treatises.
