







Two new bridges were commissioned into service in Magwe Region on 3rd February, in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Union Day. Chief Minister U Tint Lwin attended the opening ceremonies of Gway Cho Bridge in Min Hla Townships and MinTone Chaung Bridge in KanMa Township.
GwayCho Bridge was construted with the alloted budget of the Regional Government for 2020-2021 fiscal year and 2021-2022 mini-budget year. The reinforced concrete type bridge is 270 ft long and 28 ft wide. At the opening ceremony of MinTone Chaung Bridge, the Chief Minister urged the locals to cooperate for long term maintenance of the facility.
MinTone Chaung Bridge was constructed to replace the old bridge which was destroyed by the flood in 2018. The new bridge is 1,300 ft long and 28 ft wide with two lanes mortor way. It is of reinforced concrete type and can withstand 60 tons of loads. Over 4.4 billion kyats fund was alloted from the Union Budget and the Regional Government also contributed 60 million kyats for the construction of the bridge.
The Chief Minister and party later arrived at No.(2) Ward, and viewed the process of vaccination to the local residents and issuance of household lists and National Registration Card under the PanKhin Project. They also visited the Basic Education High School in No.(4) Ward and met with teachers and students. The periodicals, exercise books and stationery were also provided for the students. The Cheif Minister later viewed the students learning at the classrooms.
