California to expand COVID-19 testing sites

California will ramp up COVID-19 testing in the state, Gov. Gavin Newsom said at a mobile testing station in the Los Angeles area on Wednesday. Speaking in the Los Angeles suburb of Paramount, Newsom said National Guard troops will assist in opening more testing sites so there will be a total of 80 across the state. Newsom's office says his proposed budget is focused on keeping schools open and the economy moving, by ramping up vaccines, boosters, statewide testing, and increasing medical personnel.
