Israel president receives fourth virus vaccination

The Israeli president and his wife on Wednesday received a fourth COVID-19 vaccination at the Hadassah hospital in Jerusalem. Israeli President warned the omicron variant of the coronavirus was spreading fast and "may reach every house in Israel". The country's coronavirus infections have spiked to a new record high since the start of the pandemic.

Isaac Herzog, Israeli President said "Omicron is spreading throughout Israel and may reach every house in Israel. There is no other choice but (to) go out and get vaccinated, and quickly."

On Wednesday, the government reported that 11,978 new infections had been diagnosed the previous day. That figure surpassed the previous high of 11,345, set on 2 September 2021.
