Social Welfare Assistance: China donates 300,000 USD for SWRR Ministry

Chinese Government donated 300,000 US dollars to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai presented the donated cash to Union Minister Dr Thet Thet Khaing on Thursday.

The Union Minister explained the construction of relief items storage and disaster education centers, being implemented by the fund of Mekong-Lancang Program at five townships in Shan State.

She stressed to continue efforts for repatriation of displaced persons, social cohesion works, opening social sciences university and social protection resource center in Nay Pyi Taw.

It is learnt that the donation is part of 1 million US dollars annual contribution for the peace process in Myanmar, and this is the 6th time of donation.
