Disadvantaged Mexican kids gifted books for Xmas

Dozens of children in Mexico City's most populous neighbourhood, Itzacalco, received books as Christmas presents from the government on Wednesday.

Hundreds of children from the capital's most disadvantaged neighbourhoods benefited from the 67,100 books distributed as part of a programme promoted by the local government and the Economical Culture Fund.The goal is to hand out 1,100 books a day.Books will be distributed every day in nine capital neighbourhoods until January 3rd.
